A message from the CEO of Asobi Corp.
Two years ago, real Asobimon were born.
Since that day, lucky citizens have experienced the thrill of encountering their favorite Asobimon out in the wild.
Some customers have hungered for more.
Today, with great pride, we at Asobi Corp are thrilled to unveil our newest product:
The Capture Card.
These cards will allow you to catch and control the Asobimon living in the world.
Battle them, have them help with chores, or even keep them as pets!
We have entered a new age...
The age of Asobimon.
Asobimon is a Monster Catcher designed for the Playdate device. It is in early development with a ton of features, art, characters and monsters still waiting to be added. We hope to have a demo for you soon so that you can experience the wonders of Asobimon.

F.A.Q.
What is all of this Asobimon business?
Asobimon is a “monster catcher” style of game where the player collects creatures and uses them to battle other trainers. In this world, a corporation called “Asobi Corp” released an incredibly popular card game that took the world by storm. Then, this corporation found a way to create living versions of these cards, and these creations eventually escaped into the wild. Now, years later, Asobi Corp is releasing “capture cards” to catch the Asobimon living in the wild. The game is a bit of an homage to the monster catcher games of old, while also exploring a few new mechanics that make the game unique.
What does the word “Asobimon” stand for?
Asobi is the Japanese word for “play.” Mon, stands for “monster”. Put them together and you get, “Asobimon.”
What systems will Asobimon release on?
Asobimon will be playable on the Playdate console, a handheld console created by Panic. In the future we would like to be able to release the game on other platforms, but our current focus is development for the Playdate at this time.
When will the game be released?
When it is done! Everyone on the team has other obligations outside of this project, so development will take some time. We will keep you posted as we have updates in this regard.
What Asobimon types are in the game, and how do those types interact?
Each Asobimon has one or two types that they are associated with. The current types are: Normal, Plant, Flame, Water, Spark, Earth, Wind, Light, Dark, Arcane, Dragon, Moon, Primal, Frost, Ancient. Like other monster catcher games, each type does more and less damage to other types.
How many Asobimon will be in the final game?
There is no set number at this time. We are currently in the process of working on designs, so feel free to leave your thoughts in the discord if you would like to suggest new asobimon or leave feedback on the design process.
Do Asobimon evolve?
Asobimon do not evolve like in other monster catcher games. However, they can alter their forms by fusing with the essence of other Asobimon. This essence can be gained by leveling up specific Asobimon until they produce a crystal, which then can be fused into other Asobimon. Fusing in this way can unlock new moves, as well as change an Asobimon’s typing.
Will there be ways to connect with other players, like trading or battling?
Currently we are only focusing our efforts on the single-player experience of the game. Further, there are technical limitations associated with the Playdate that would make some of these features difficult to implement at this time.
